U.S. SOCCER | GAMECHANGERS: THE DREW CUNNINGHAM MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
At a young age, Drew Cunningham dominated power soccer, becoming the youngest athlete to join the U.S. Power Soccer National Team. A month before the 2023 World Cup Drew passed away suddenly, leaving a large hole in the national team and the U.S. power soccer community. Four friends and athletes came together to build the Drew Cunningham Mentorship Program–an amateur to professional pipeline that identifies and nurtures young disabled athletes to reach the highest levels of international power soccer. This is the story of the next generation of power soccer in the United States.
